Imagine escaping the summer heat for a physical rehabilitation retreat in a gorgeous Puget Sound waterfront community where you will receive concierge therapy services to restore your body and soul. We have put together a Parkinson's Disease RESET program that will improve your balance, movement, and recalibrate your timing. The ancillary therapies will help you heal from head to toes.
You will learn how to effectively manage your Parkinson's condition and strategies to help you LIVE WELL WITH PARKINSON'S through nutrition education, and lifestyle changes. Because every person with Parkinson's is unique, you will be provided with a COMPREHENSIVE physical ASSESSMENT and a PERSONALIZED TREATMENT PLAN by a SPECIALIZED Neuro-Physical Occupational Therapist. In addition, our program offers a full complement of ancillary therapeutic treatments that will boost your energy and outlook.
Our philosophy is to TREAT THE WHOLE PERSON. Parkinson's has a long list of symptoms besides slow or unwanted movement that interfere with quality of life. We treat pain, incontinence, joint rigidity, cognitive changes, and other symptoms. We have a variety of treatments for a variety of symptoms and our sessions are provided in a comfortable, serene environment, unlike the hospital and nursing rehab facilities.
The foundation of our Summer Parkinson's Reset Program is the LSVT-Big (movement amplification) program, which is world acclaimed for recalibration of timing and balance. Studies have shown that completion of a 30-day program can improve quality of life by reducing tremors and fall risk for up to 2 years in many cases.* Please go to our Parkinson's Treatment Page for more information and video. (results vary by individual as no two Parkinson's patients are the same)
At Integrative Therapeutic Solutions, our clinician is not only certified for LSVT, she is an OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST specialized in comprehensive physical assessments, providing treatments for Parkinson's and other neuromuscular conditions. As an occupational therapist, she addresses everything from writing, dressing, to walking and fitness to drive.
At discharge, your Parkinson's stage will be reassessed along with other metrics that will provide evidence of improvement. In most cases, Integrative Therapeutic Solutions patients achieve a reset of their Parkinson's condition by one stage, as if turning back the clock on the disease process.
Your 30-Day Program Schedule is 4 days for 4 weeks (Monday-Thursday) and provided in private 1:1 sessions where you will be able to focus on your movement program with the complete attention of a specialized clinician in a wellness-oriented environment for better emotional and physical results.
Pre-Screening is required before acceptance into the summer Parkinson's Reset Program due to limited time slots:
Health conditions (previous stroke, heart/circulation, shoulder injuries, major joint arthritis, and incontinence*)
Medications (blood thinners, insulin dependence, blood pressure, etc.)
DBS and heart pacemaker/defibrillator
Insurance plan and pre-authorization - see list of accepted plans
Other medical conditions play a factor in the success of the program completion. Some of these conditions are routinely addressed before starting the LSVT program to ensure maximal outcomes. If you are planning on enrolling for the summer reset program and are traveling from out of state, it will be important to address some of the conditions that will interfere with your ability to participate and achieve the best results first, either in your community before your program or upon arrival. We are able to address certain conditions before your Parkinson's Reset Program if you have an open-ended schedule or can extend your stay in Gig harbor. We can offer solutions during the screening process.
Once you have completed your screening process, you will be instructed to do the following:
have your primary care physician or neurologist send us a referral (you will be given details)
fax or email required documents (insurance cards and ID)
fax or email completed new patient forms
request for lodging, and airport shuttle
special needs or time preferences for your schedule (we will do our best to accommodate, however, priority is given to the first patient who requests and on condition factors)
Ancillary Wellness Treatments you wish to book - they will be scheduled to not interfere with your therapy appointments
